Your best score
shouldn't come with a price tag.
The Red Envelope Scholarship gives students structured, high‑quality SAT Math and Reading instruction at no cost — built for those who have the drive but not always the access to traditional test prep.
This scholarship‑based SAT preparation program is designed to support students from families who may need additional resources to improve their SAT scores but may not have access to traditional test prep. The program provides structured, high‑quality instruction focused on building essential skills, strengthening test‑taking strategy, and increasing overall performance — at no cost to accepted participants.
Weekly sessions, built around your schedule
Classes run on multiple days each week so a missed session never means a missed week.
SAT Math
Weekly sessions offered most days — Friday is the only day off. Attend whichever one fits your week.
SAT Reading
Same flexibility — pick the day that works, attend once per week. Math and Reading sessions can fall on the same day.
Modules rotate every week
Each lesson covers Module 1 or Module 2 content. The two rotate so every enrolled student gets full coverage over time, no matter which week they join.
Instruction focuses on core skills, test‑taking strategy, and steady score growth across both modules.
Selected on merit — and on need
The program looks at the whole student: their effort and their circumstances.
Shows up and puts in the work
- Genuine commitment to attending weekly sessions
- Motivation to improve and willingness to practice between classes
- Good academic standing and a clear goal for the SAT
Limited access to traditional prep
- Household or family circumstances that make paid test prep out of reach
- Little or no prior access to structured SAT instruction
- Would benefit meaningfully from free, consistent support
Applicants are considered on both dimensions together — not one or the other.

Meet the founders
The Red Envelope Scholarship was started by two people who believe great SAT prep shouldn't depend on what a family can afford.
Derek Yu
Matthew Baer
A note from usWe started the Red Envelope Scholarship because we believe a strong SAT score should come from effort and preparation, not from how much a family can afford to spend on test prep.
Too many motivated students never get access to structured, high-quality instruction. We wanted to change that, so every student we accept receives weekly SAT Math and Reading classes at no cost, with the flexibility to fit them into a real schedule.
Our hope is simple: that every student who joins leaves with stronger skills, more confidence, and a score that reflects how hard they have worked. We're glad you're here, and we can't wait to see what you do next.
